Alumnae Find Inspiration at East Bay Women’s Conference & their Continued Engagement with Girls Inc. of Alameda County

We hosted seven alumnae at this year’s East Bay Women’s Conference a powerful one-day conference with the mission to inspire and empower all women! The program was packed with inspiring, educational keynote speakers and countless opportunities to network and connect.

“I am a mom, entrepreneur and proud Girls Inc. of Alameda County alumna! Whenever I am at a crossroads, I find myself turning to Girls Inc. of Alameda County– to my mentors, best friends (I met my best friend, Rebecca, in program over 20 years ago), and a saying I had adopted for myself since I was 12, that I am Strong, Smart & Bold. Recently, I have been navigating my business growth and professional goals when fortunately for me, Girls Inc. invited us to EBCW. The conference made me feel a renewed sense of inspiration. The keynote speakers were enlightening and I had the opportunity to network with women with diverse backgrounds and professions, including other fellow alumnae. Through my exposure to this experience, I was given new tools and made connections to start seeking answers to my questions. It was a reminder that with my Strong, Smart & Bold foundation I can reinvent myself, once again!”

                          – Aby, Business Owner, Girls Inc. of Alameda County alumna (Graduated in 2002)

Aby’s story highlights some of the most important aspects of what we do–building sisterhood and community, exposing youth to connections and resources that can benefit them in their future, introducing participants to new networking, career and professional development opportunities and our continued support of our alumnae as they navigate life and the inevitable challenges that come with it.

We are thrilled that several of our alumnae were able to find value in and take advantage of this meaningful conference (especially during Women’s History Month!), and we are grateful to our friends at Comerica Bank for facilitating our inclusion at EBWC 2024!
