Preparing for the Strong, Smart & Bold Luncheon with a Surprise Newscast!
We hope you’re having as much fun preparing for Girls Inc.’s 60th Anniversary Strong, Smart & Bold Luncheon on April 27th as we are! Last Monday, the three incredible girls who will be sharing their stories at the luncheon headed to the non-profit Dress for Success, which has been partnering with us for numerous years and provided the girls with professional outfits for the occasion. Then, since they were in the neighborhood, the girls were invited by KRON 4 news anchor (and luncheon emcee!) Pam Moore to stop by the newsroom so she could give them a tour.
Pam took the girls around the whole studio, where they learned about the process of creating the nightly news— from finding the stories, to announcing the material on air. She introduced the girls to all the different people in the newsroom, who helped break down their particular roles. Then, after meeting the girls, sports caster Gary Radnich suddenly decided to scrap one of the stories he was going to cover— and instead introduce the girls on air, and talk about the luncheon!
The girls were still in disbelief as they went home that night, and are more excited about the Strong, Smart & Bold Luncheon than ever. They hope to see you there!
