On Wednesday, March 21st, Celebrity Chef Ayesha Curry visited a classroom of our students to demonstrate food preparation techniques, talk about nutrition, and share a healthy snack. The event was co-sponsored by sponsored by Girls Inc. of Alameda County and No Kid Hungry.
Ms. Curry shared tips from how to warm fresh herbs in your hands to unlock the smell to an easy way to peel a mango. Most importantly she shared messages on healthy eating to strengthen their bodies and words of encouragement. When Ms. Curry was asked to share a moment when she felt strong, smart, and bold she shared, “It was when something didn’t go my way…I was taught that you add ‘yet’ to the end. So, I can’t do it, becomes, I can’t do it yet. That’s when I feel the strongest.”
