Girls Gain New Perspectives on Southern California College Tour

Sophia had only really considered public universities before going with Girls Inc.’s college access program on a tour of Southern California colleges. While touring campuses, she was amazed by how different the colleges and universities were in person from what she had heard or seen online. She discovered that the “feel” of liberal arts schools like Pitzer College could be a great match for her.

“I learned a lot about the programs [at Pitzer],” she related. Learning about experiences such as their thriving study abroad program expanded her vision of what her education might look like—a vision that she recognizes would be very different without the opportunity to explore through Girls Inc. Now, Sophia is moving into her senior year with an even bigger, clearer sense of her options for the future.
