Lois De Domenico Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Congrats to Lois De Domenico, our Board Member Emerita and Co-Chair of our Capital Campaign for our downtown Oakland Girls’ Resource Center, on her Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Golden Gate Chapter.

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual or family with a proven lifetime record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles in the community.

For more than 60 years, Lois has served many community organizations benefiting Alameda County residents, providing her time, expertise, and financial support. As a member of our board of directors, Lois was co-chair of the $11 million capital campaign to fund a new Girls’ Resource Center in Oakland. She has helped achieve a 33 percent increase in donations and recruited a diverse mix of community leaders to the board. Most importantly, Lois has positively influenced scores of girls from under-resourced communities in Alameda County, teaching them yoga and helping to develop their self-confidence.

Lois has won many awards for her community service. An inductee to Alameda County Women’s Hall of Fame, she has also won the Trailblazer Award from Leadership California, Bold Honoree at our Strong, Smart & Bold Luncheon, and Outstanding Philanthropist from the National Society of Fundraising Executives. We are grateful to Lois for her expertise, caring, and deep investments of time and resources to inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold!
