Shakirat Nkwuo

Shakirat is originally from Nigeria where she gained NGO experience working to end gender discrimination and cultivate a generation of assertive, empowered young women to take leadership positions in their lives and beyond. She began her career 10 years ago with the Internal Revenue Service, Lagos Nigeria. She hold an A.S. degree in Social Works, B.S. in Sociology and Masters in Employment and Labor Studies from the prestigious University of Lagos, Nigeria.

She  relocated to California where she functioned in management and leadership across the private sector. Most recently before joining Girls Inc. of Alameda County, she managed 500 employees across four companies improving employee welfare, satisfaction, and engagement.

As the Senior Director of Human Resources, she brings her expertise in organizational development, people dynamics, management and strategic planning to align and improve exceptional workplace experience. She lives in San Ramon with her two young daughters whom she enjoys traveling with.
