Dress Code: Please be comfortable in dressy-casual attire–this will not be a black-tie event like it has been in the past. Flats or chunk heeled shoes are encouraged for the fun activities on the Faculty Glade. Cocktail rounds abound but no assigned seating. Coat rack is available.
Evening Activities
On the evening of the Gala, take the opportunity to participate in some of our girls’
favorite fieldtrip STEAM activities, presented by Girls Inc. supporters,
Simpson Strong-Tie, Denali Therapeutics, and DPR Construction,
in the Faculty Club Glade. This evening’s activities include:
Construct a Brain Hat
This summer middle school girls learned how to recognize a diseased brain. How well do you know the human brain? Work with our partners from Denali Therapeutics and challenge yourself to make yourself a “brain hat.” It will only fit if it’s put together correctly.
Assemble your own White Board
Simple construction is done best with superior parts. With the help of Simpson Strong Tie, put together a personal whiteboard to capture all of your Strong, Smart and Bold thoughts.
Design a Helipad
Every Girls Inc. girl knows the power of innovation and creativity. Beyonce is coming to town, and she needs a place to land her chopper. With DPR
Construction, grab a team and construct Beyonce’s helipad. Enter your team’s helipad into the contest and win a prize for overall construction or creativity.
Build a Solar Car
This past summer our girls had many lessons about sustainability and harnessing natural energy. Put your engineering skills to the test and design a solar car. Enter your team’s solar car into a race, and the team with the fastest car will win a prize! Listen for announcements throughout the evening.
