High Schoolers Dive Into Finance With Comerica Bank

Thank you to our Partner, Comerica Bank, for sending Danette Winkler, VP of Commercial Banking, and Araceli Dominguez-Singh, VP of Commercial Relationship Management, to our Simpson Center for Girls to lead a finance workshop for our high schoolers.

Danette and Araceli presented the basics of banking and credit and did an incredible job making their content applicable to our girls now and how they can set themselves up for future success.

Financial literacy is often omitted from curricula in public schools, yet it is essential to navigating the complexities of personal finance, making informed decisions, and achieving overall financial security and independence.

Danette and Araceli created a safe space for our girls to ask questions and seek advice about best practices for credit, loans, savings accounts and more, and they left the workshop with a better understanding of fundamental financial literacy.

Comerica Bank has also supported us in other ways, including hosting high school participants as summer interns and sponsoring major fundraising events throughout the year –we are grateful for their involvement in inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold!
