Stephanie Dietrich

School-Based Manager

Born and raised in Oakland from immigrant parents Stephanie was able to accomplish the goal of becoming a first-generation college student. During this process she faced many obstacles as a woman of color. It has become her mission to help guide and give students in low-income communities the tools to be the leaders and the people they are meant to be.

As a youth she joined the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center where she focused on learning social justice issues and studied Dr. King, and as an adult she became a mentor for the youth and the Director of Student Services. She has been a part of several national tours in which she taught and learned about the different struggles communities around the country face, including the Congressional Civil Rights Pilgrimage hosted by Congressman John Luis, in which she traveled with members of congress through Alabama and visited some of the main cities impacted with the Civil Rights Movement.

In 2014 she joined Girls of Alameda County as a Program Leader, serving youth in the same middle school she attended, and shortly after she applied to become the All STARS Program Coordinator. During this journey she has learned a lot about herself and her community, and she is dedicated to the journey of justice and change.
