As a daughter of immigrants, Aisha is committed to engaging in social justice work and is passionate about empowering girls and women. In 2016 she joined Girls Inc. to use her research and evaluation skills to help Girls Inc. continue to provide the high quality, high impact services that girls in Oakland deserve. Prior to Girls Inc., she worked at the Stanford University School of Medicine to evaluate the effectiveness of their faculty development and diversity programs. Aisha is inspired by the power of collective action and is dedicated to building power in disinvested communities. She has held various research assistant positions that focused on amplifying marginalized voices and increasing the public’s access to and understanding of public policies, and was a student and community organizer focused on issues of equity and race. Aisha holds a Master of Public Policy from University of Southern California, a B.A. in Global Economics from UC Santa Cruz, and a B.A. in Politics from UC Santa Cruz.
