Thank You 2024 Summer Internship Hosts

Our 10th and 11th graders recently completed their summer internships with placements that allowed them to explore potential new career paths and begin building their foundation for career readiness!

We want to express gratitude for our internship hosts –Rakuten, FORRELL | ELSESSER Structural Engineers, and Ashley Pfahler, UX Design Consultant!

Rakuten hosted six of our participants in roles ranging from marketing, product design, product strategy, campaign operations and sports and entertainment management. This year, we also introduced Girls Inc. New York to our internship structure with Rakuten, enabling additional participants from New York to join in our first-ever dual internship!

Our intern at FORRELL | ELSESSER’s was hosted in people development and shadowed an engineer specializing in structural and earthquake engineering.

Ashley Pfahler provided her intern insight into the process of creating products that provide relevant and meaningful interfaces for users, including designing, acquiring and integrating a product, branding, design, usability, and function.
