The Women of Taste event has always been a great place to be introduced to up-and-coming family wineries like Donkey and Goat, Dashe Cellars and JC Cellars.
Showering Our College Freshmen

One hundred percent of graduates of our five-year Eureka! Teen Achievement Program enrolled in college last fall. Many were the first of their family to go on to higher education. There are many expenses associated with going to college, which can be burdensome for low-income students. In celebration of the success of our graduating seniors, Girls Inc. has partnered with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., of Silicon Valley to shower our graduates with much-needed supplies and many good wishes as they begin their college journey. Read more »

Take A Chance!

Believing in a vision and supporting it by any means necessary is what is meant by taking a chance. Barclay Simpson, long-term supporter of Girls Inc. of Alameda County, is fond of saying “Take a Chance.” His support has made it possible for Girls Inc. to take a chance and expand our programs to girls in Kindergarten through third grade. The GIRLStart early literacy program has allowed our girls to take chances of their own. In its tenth year, GIRLStart is now a signature program of Girls Inc. of Alameda County and has been expanded to several Girls Inc. affiliates nationwide. Read more »
