Stars of Disney’s “Moana” visit Girls Inc.

On May 1st, Girls Inc. of Alameda County welcomed Auli’i Cravalho, leading actress of Disney’s Moana, and Hollywood Records artist Jordan Fisher, to our Simpson Center for Girls in downtown Oakland. Auli’i shared her journey from a small town in Hawaii to becoming a nationally recognized singer and actress; her excitement about microbiology and dedication to keeping up her schoolwork; and the importance of staying grounded while boldly reaching for your dreams. Jordan, who recently appeared in Broadway’s Hamilton, performed “You’re Welcome” from Moana, and his new hit single, “It’s Always Summer.” Our girls had the chance to meet with the Disney stars before taking home autographs and gifts courtesy of Disney Music Group and H2O+ Beauty.
